What is 4TRKmini?

4TRKmini is a 4-track music workstation built specifically for retro handhelds. It lets you sketch beats on the couch or make songs on the bus. It uses the same workflow as 4TRK, but the interface is completely redesigned around a D-pad and four face buttons.

• Drum track + 3 synth tracks: Pattern-based sequencing with scenes and banks.
• 4 synth engines: Analog-style SYN, FM, wavetable, and sampler.
• Tracker FX: Pitchbend, arpeggio, vibrato, retrigger, and more on a per-step basis.
• Tape deck: Record your jam to tape, overdub, loop, and resample.
• Mixer: Per-track levels, VU meters, and FX pedals including delay, reverb, and drive.
• Live drum mode: Finger-drum on the face buttons, with or without quantize.

• Native C++ audio engine: Ultra-low latency, even on €40 handhelds.
• Hardware support: Launchpad Mini MK3 support, plus full keyboard and mouse control on PC.

• Anbernic RG351MP and other ArkOS devices (such as the R36S, K36, and clones)
• TrimUI Brick (NextUI)
• PortMaster-compatible devices running ArkOS, KNULLI, Batocera, or ROCKNIX
• Raspberry Pi 4 and 5 (64-bit OS)

Please note: 4TRKmini is intended to be used with a gamepad!

Early Access Details

4TRKmini is currently in Early Access. 

Please note: Because the retro handheld ecosystem is so fragmented, I cannot guarantee that everything will work perfectly on every single device, and I won't always be able to provide immediate technical support. However, your purchase includes access to all available platforms. If the app gives you trouble on your specific handheld, you still get the PC, Linux, and Mac versions so you can hopefully play around with 4TRKmini there until a solution or update is made.
